Ramona

Welcome to Ramona

Ramona is a charming town in North San Diego known for its scenic beauty, rural atmosphere and a rich history. Known as the "Valley of the Sun" for its abundant sunshine, this alluring town rests at an elevation of approximately 1,400 feet above sea level, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city life, despite being just 35.5 miles from Downtown San Diego.

Ramona's roots run deep, with a historical connection to Helen Hunt Jackson's novel "Ramona," a literary masterpiece that celebrated the region's natural beauty and the lives of Native Americans and early Californians. The legacy of this story lives on at the Ramona Bowl, an outdoor amphitheater that hosts annual plays and events, inviting you to step back in time.

For wine connoisseurs, Ramona is a part of the larger San Diego County wine region. With over 40 wineries to explore, you can enjoy wine tasting and savor locally crafted wines.

But Ramona isn't just about its natural beauty and wine culture; it's a place where community thrives. Throughout the year, the town comes alive with a multitude of events that reflect its rural and Western heritage. From the Ramona Country Fair to exciting rodeos and parades, cruise nights, art festivals and more, these gatherings embody the genuine warmth and camaraderie of Ramona's people. Ramona’s Chamber of Commerce and the local business community host a myriad of events throughout the year including the Christmas Tree Lighting and Main Street Trick or Treat along the Main Street Corridor that brings everyone out to mingle and enjoy our Town.

As you stroll along historic Main Street, you will experience Ramona’s small-town charm with shops, restaurants, and historic buildings. Ramona's rural character, which remains intact, adds to its character. Ramona along with its community minded citizens have done a great job in acknowledging the need for growth while keeping Ramona's traditional timelessness, blending the old and new.

The aspect that we enjoy most with respect to selling homes in Ramona, is the chance to bring in folks from everywhere who can also fall in love with “R” Town. It is a place settled, but growingSecure in itself but open to marked change and a piece of Americana that represents the towns across America that are simply a wonderful place to grow up and enjoy a totally different quality of life. Here you can experience the true meaning of "country living" while still being able to easily access and enjoy the full scope of San Diego living!
