Neighborhoods in Scripps Ranch

“Old Scripps”: Located south of Pomerado Road, is the original heart of the community. With its winding roads, towering eucalyptus trees, and mature landscaping, this area exudes charm and character. Homes tend to be custom or semi-custom, with large lots and unique architectural details that set them apart from newer tract-style developments.

“New Scripps”: This area is often referred to as “Scripps Ranch Villages” and includes multiple sub-developments built during San Diego’s residential boom. Located North of Pomerado Road. Streets are wider, homes are newer, and many communities have HOA amenities like pools, parks, and tot lots.

Lake Miramar Area: Centered around Scripps Lake Drive, this neighborhood offers direct access to Lake Miramar, one of San Diego’s most popular walking, biking, and fishing destinations. Views, serenity, and nature make this one of the most peaceful areas in Scripps Ranch.

Stonebridge Estates: Lies on the eastern edge of Scripps Ranch, bordering Poway and expansive open space. It’s known for luxury homes on large lots, gated communities, and scenic views of surrounding canyons and rolling hills. A great blend of rural quiet and modern design.

Scripps Ranch Business & Commercial Corridor: Not exactly a “neighborhood,” this area along Scripps Poway Parkway and Carroll Canyon Rd serves as the commercial hub of Scripps Ranch. It’s home to grocery stores, coffee shops, fitness centers, breweries, and the newly developed The Hub at Scripps Ranch.

Because Scripps Ranch is primarily residential, lodging options are more limited inside the community itself. Most visitors stay in nearby Poway,  Rancho Bernardo, or along I‑15 for easier access. Here are some good options:

• Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Rancho Bernardo / Scripps Poway — An all-suite, extended‑stay style hotel with full kitchens, outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. Located near I‑15, making access to Scripps Ranch easy. 
• SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Rancho Bernardo / Scripps Poway — Studio/one‑bed suites with some kitchenette amenities, breakfast included, and a pool. Convenient for stays near Scripps Ranch and Poway.
